Glamis Sand Dunes Elopement

This magical Glamis Sand Dunes elopement was just the perfect day for A and C’s love story. They reached out to me initially to help them plan a unique desert elopement at the sand dunes with their closest family and friends in attendance. A and C had been doing the long distance thing for a number of years, and were so excited to finally start their lives together in the same location.

We decided on the Glamis Sand Dunes, one of my absolute favorite locations.

Pre-Ceremony

A and C considered every detail for their beautiful day, right down to the brightly colored poufs for their guests to sit on.

They wanted an experience that reflected their personalities, something fun and personalized. I would say with 100% certainty that they succeeded!

I knew we were going to get along splendidly when they said they were considering bringing their two dogs and including them in the ceremony.   These doggos had the BEST time watching their humans get married and running around the desert.

Ceremony

Fun fact – just because you decide to elope doesn’t mean that you can’t still have some of the elements of a more traditional wedding. I love that A wanted her dad to walk her down the aisle.

The beautiful ceremony was performed by Chaplain Dawn Christiansen.

A’s amazing whimsical dress was custom-made by Glitter Soup, and it was breathtaking. Her hair and makeup was done by Mobile Beauty Team. Her amazing bouquet and boutonnière (and the cute floral dog collar!) was done by Wedding Flowers by Olga. The flowers were 100% dried flowers, which was a great choice for an elopement. She did not have to worry about picking them up the day-of or about them wilting during travel.

As for their exit from the ceremony, I suggested a bubble exit!  This is a super great way to have a fun exit while still obeying the regulations in a public recreation area and preserving the surrounding area.

It was such a beautiful and happy celebration.

After the ceremony, their guests enjoyed some light snacks while I took the bride and groom off for some desert portraits.

Bride and Groom

The landscape at the dunes is always unreal, and A and C told me I had all the artistic freedom I wanted! I loved what we were able to create.

The day wouldn’t be complete without a bit of running frivolously through the desert.

*And I’ll thank my lucky stars for that night*

Naturally, I ended up with way too many photos to choose from.

All in all, it was a perfect day for this Glamis Sand Dunes elopement.
