Bridal sessions! What are they, and why do them? First off, A + T had a gorgeous boho desert bridal session in Phoenix, Arizona.
We went out to the mountains at sunset to have a little shoot to capture more memories of their wedding.
Bridal sessions are really great way to get some additional photos of you and your spouse (or spouse-to-be). It is becoming a more popular option, and I personally think it’s a great idea. Essentially, this is a photo session that can take place either before or after your wedding where you dress up in your wedding day finery and head out for an intimate photo shoot with just the two of you.
So why do people do bridal sessions? A few reasons. Some couples like to do this as a first look on a different day before the wedding. It takes the pressure off of the main wedding day, and it lets you two just have a moment to yourselves. Wedding days can be busy, so having a separate session with just the two of you is a really fun and relaxing experience. It is also nice because you can pick a location that may not have worked for a full wedding, or just a location that is different than your venue.
When my husband and I got married, we actually did a bridal session about three weeks after our wedding. Our wedding venue was located closer to town, and I really wanted to go out into the Arizona desert landscape to get some additional photos out in the wild, if you will. I love all of my wedding photos, but I really love the photos from our bridal session. It was such a fun day, and I was glad to be able to wear my dress on more than one occasion. If you’ve got it, flaunt it!
Bridal sessions are a great excuse to have some additional photos taken surrounding your wedding day. They can serve any purpose you like, but at the end of the day, they’re just plain fun.
Finally, I will preface the below photos by saying that it is definitely not the norm to have such a crazy sunset, so no promises. But we ended the night with this absolutely insane sunset, which was just such a fun experience. I like to think that if you are down for the adventure, the world will bring you good things. It definitely did on this night!
Finally, some credits to the amazing vendors who were involved in this shoot:
The bride’s beautiful dress was from AZ Bride Studio. Check out their gorgeous dresses here.
Hair and makeup was done by Jacqueline Malocu. You can check out more of her work here.
The flowers were done by Mia’s Flower Shop in Phoenix, Arizona.
