I had the honor of photographing this Phoenix, Arizona maternity session for two of my closest friends. I’ve been able to watch these two go from high-school sweethearts to where they are now, with their beautiful new babe. We decided to head up north of Phoenix a bit for this session.
We hit golden hour just right for these photos. Late afternoon, close to sunset, is typically an optimal time for an outdoor session, unless you happen to be a morning person and could do a sunrise session.
When should you consider doing a maternity session? Most people end up having a session somewhere around 30 weeks or so. However, this completely depends on you, how that baby is growing, and how you’re feeling. I’ve done some earlier and plenty later than that, but it’s a good benchmark to consider.
I loved that I was able to capture this time of their lives for two of my friends. And this little babe decided to show up a few weeks early! For that reason, I recommend that you find a time that’s right for you, but don’t wait too long to have your session!
