Intimate Arizona Wedding at Tonto Bar and Grill

This intimate Arizona wedding took place at Tonto Bar and Grill, just outside of the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas. R and M heard about me through friends who had done a maternity session with me previously, and I am SO glad they found me. They were in the midst of planning an intimate wedding ceremony with just their closest family and friends.

We initially met by video chat since they both live out of town in the midwest. I knew immediately that our styles and personalities matched, and I couldn’t wait to photograph this beautiful day.

The details followed a theme of sage greens, golds, and whites, which blended in with the desert perfectly.

The beautiful florals were done by The Studio at Cactus Flower, based out of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Getting Ready

The bride’s sister and mom helped her get ready.

The bride’s stunning wedding dress was from Essense of Australia.

The groom also had some help from his groomsmen getting ready.

Ceremony

The venue was perfectly set up for an intimate ceremony overlooking the desert scenery.

They decided to have a late afternoon ceremony, which timed perfectly for photos.

The ceremony was beautifully performed by Gwen Waring at Arizona Ministers.

Let’s just say the bride and groom were pretty happy to be married.

And the bridal party consisted of the bride and groom’s siblings.

After the ceremony, I typically family photos, followed by bride and groom portraits. These two trusted me completely to drag them around the grounds for the best spots I found while scouting out earlier.

I can’t resist a good cactus scene, and these two were not afraid to get up close and personal.

The palo verde trees are also blooming bright yellow in Arizona in the spring, which makes for another gorgeous spot for some bridal portraits.

Reception

Next, reception time. I absolutely love outdoor receptions, especially in the fall or spring in Arizona. The weather is perfect, the stars come out, and it’s never a bad idea to have your first dance under some string lights.

Speeches, some food, and then the party really gets started. The DJ for this wedding was Ramsey Bergeron, and he kept the crowd dancing all evening.

Then, the bride and groom had the absolute cutest little saguaro cactus cake.

Only a small bit of cake was lost in the making of these photos.

All in all, this was a beautiful and intimate wedding in the Arizona springtime.
